About Us

Firewood Winnipeg is a family-owned business operating in the Winnipeg area since 2023. Our firewood is sustainably harvested in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, with much of our wood coming locally from the Winnipeg area.

We specialize in birch, ash and oak firewood, although we sometimes offer maple, poplar and even hard-to-find hackberry when we can find it. Because firewood takes time to “season” (dry out after being cut), the wood we have available varies with the time of year.

Our Firewood Types

Birch

Birch – highly desirable because it is easy to light due to its papery bark plus it is one of the nicest-smelling woods to burn! At 20.3 million BTUs per cord, it provides good heat, burns cleanly and is a low-smoke firewood.

Ash

Ash – a wonderful native Manitoba species, the green ash we sell is a beautiful, straight-grained firewood with excellent coaling properties and good heat at 19.9 million BTUs per cord. This is one of our most popular firewood types.

Winnipeg Firewood’s stacked firewood logs—cut with the bark intact and arranged in a neat pile—display both the natural cross-sections of the wood and its rugged outer surfaces.

Oak

Oak – one of the most popular species, it has the highest overall heat content of any Manitoba firewood (26.3 million BTU per cord) while also being popular for use in outdoor pizza ovens and for smoking meat.

2026 Season Prices

All prices include free delivery to Winnipeg & surrounding area. Wood is left on driveway or immediate vicinity as per customer instructions. Stacking can be done for modest additional cost. For insurance reasons, unfortunately customers cannot pickup wood at our place of business. Please call or text to inquire about delivery rates if significantly outside the Perimeter. Check back often as items showing out-of-stock are replenished as wood becomes available!
